The Real Me

SCENE BEGINS with Kelly (Gia Derza) in her kitchen, the 'ping' of an incoming message on her laptop catching her attention. She peeks at the screen with intrigue. A man named Brent, who discovered her through an online matchmaking platform, has dropped her a line. Despite some preliminary doubts, she feels an immediate, mutual bond with him when he discloses that, like her, he is 18 and lost his father at a young age. She grins to herself, thrilled about the new man entering her life. CUT TO TITLE In the ensuing weeks, Kelly and Brent grow closer. Before long, Kelly is deeply smitten with her digital sweetheart, and Brent appears to return her affections. A few days pass and Kelly, jittery, contemplates whether or not to take revealing photos for Brent. Convinced that she can trust him, she captures the photos and sends them his way. A week later, Kelly anxiously prepares to meet Brent in person. She chats with her pal Janice over the phone and the conversation veers towards one of their instructors, a strange man named Mr. Hughes who seems to have an odd perspective on intimacy. Later that evening, Kelly reaches Brent's home for their rendezvous. Kelly steps into the house hesitantly. Brent? She calls out gently. A masculine voice responds, 'Hello, Kelly.' Kelly swivels towards the sound and her eyes bulge in surprise. Standing before her is an older, mild-looking man (Dick Chibbles). 'Brent' isn't who he portrays himself to be, and when Kelly uncovers his real intentions, she'll NEVER be the same again...
