That Which She Hates Most

SCENE UNFOLDS with Leah (Whitney Wright), appearing nervous yet thrilled, as she unlocks the entrance to her house. Evelyn (Reagan Foxx), a social services representative, greets her in a cordial though friendly manner, introducing herself. Evelyn is clutching a clipboard with documents and a writing instrument.
She's there to carry out an adoption home assessment and her evaluation is vital in the adoption proceedings. Leah discloses that her significant other, Toni, should be arriving any moment. Subsequently, the evaluation appears to be progressing smoothly.
There's an abundance of grinning and the non-verbal communication between the women seems relaxed and cordial as they converse. Leah is filled with anticipation and anxiety throughout while Evelyn is courteous and observant, appearing impressed. Evelyn can be seen jotting observations on her clipboard periodically.
Eventually, Toni (Ana Foxxx) comes home, announcing her arrival as she steps through the entrance. Leah eagerly excuses herself from Evelyn and welcomes Toni with a smooch. There is affection and love shared between them.
Evelyn appears taken aback for a moment at this public display of affection. She doesn't utter a word but her facial expression subtly stiffens, her jaw tensing as she scribbles pointedly on her clipboard. Leah happily introduces Toni to Evelyn.
Evelyn maintains her polite demeanor as she affirms that she has all necessary information to make a judgment and departs, albeit somewhat hastily. Leah and Toni are oblivious to any issue, instead interpreting Evelyn's comments and departure as indicators of a successful visit. Leah and Toni are thrilled as Leah gushes to Toni about the positive progress and her certainty that they're finally going to form the family they've dreamt of.
CUT TO TITLE Weeks later, Toni is unwinding when Leah eagerly approaches her with a letter in her grasp, proclaiming that the evaluation results have arrived. They are both filled with anticipation as they gather to unseal and peruse the letter. Initially, they are thrilled and optimistic, but soon their expressions transform into shock, bewilderment, and desolation.
They've been unsuccessful in the evaluation, Evelyn's report citing 'unsuitable behavior' observed in the home. Stunned, they ponder the interactions between Leah and Evelyn, deducing that Evelyn rejected them because they are a lesbian couple. They secretly conspire to seek retribution against Evelyn.
A fortnight later, Evelyn is diligently typing away on her laptop in her workspace. The lighting is slightly dim, suggesting the end of the workday, and the workspaces are all vacant except for hers. Evelyn's colleague departs, leaving her as the lone occupant of the office.
Evelyn continues her work in silence for a few minutes as there is a subtle movement near the door. Evelyn hears the rustling motion but doesn't divert her gaze from her computer, assuming it's her colleague returning. Evelyn is caught off guard as Leah and Toni enter the office.
They furiously confront her regarding the unsuccessful evaluation and Evelyn openly confesses that her decision was influenced by their sexual orientation. Leah and Toni disclose that they've been observing Evelyn over the past few weeks. They discovered that Evelyn has been unfaithful to her spouse.
Evelyn appears worried and speechless. Leah and Toni blackmail Evelyn with the threat of revealing her infidelity unless she complies with their demands. Evelyn shows reluctance, though pledges to convert the failed evaluation into a pass, but Leah and Toni aren't appeased.
Leah and Toni insist that this isn't sufficient and demand that Evelyn submits to their sexual desires. Leah and Toni make Evelyn plead for intercourse, seeking to degrade her. Leah and Toni are on the verge of teaching Evelyn a lesson she'll recollect for the rest of her life.
