The Uncomfortable Truth

Browsing online, Roger (Ryan McLane) spends some time perusing an escort site. He appears shocked and unsure when he sees the image of one of the escorts, Mercedes. She looks eerily familiar to him, and to his dismay, he recognizes that Mercedes is in fact a young woman named Melanie (Lydia Black), who is the offspring of his close friend and business associate, Joe.
Haunted by his duty to Joe, he decides to visit Joe's residence to inform him about his daughter. Upon his arrival, Joe is absent and he is met by Melanie. Rather than departing, he confronts Melanie in a heated manner, but Melanie dismisses him.
She doesn't have anything to feel guilty about, and it's because of individuals like Roger that she has to keep her escort work concealed. Moreover, why is Roger so eager to protect Joe? Especially when she believes Joe doesn't merit such fidelity? The more they converse, the more Roger comprehends that Joe isn't the virtuous person he believed him to be. He's heartbroken and conflicted about his next steps.
and that's when Melanie proposes they unite to deliver Joe the ultimate act of defiance.
