A Clean Slate

Josie and Clark (Jay Romero) are in the throes of an intense disagreement, with Josie alleging she has found incontrovertible proof of Clark's infidelity involving her closest friend, Felicia (Kayley Gunner). Despite Clark's vehement denial of the accusations, Josie is resolute in her decision to sever all ties with him. As Clark pleads with her not to leave, Josie angrily storms out of the residence and onto the road...where she meets with a horrific accident right before Clark's horrified gaze. After a considerable amount of time, Josie is shown to be convalescing in her bed, with Felicia coming over to check up on her. Felicia appears to be kind and considerate, ensuring Josie's comfort, but she can't help but inquire about Josie's true state of well-being post the accident. Josie confesses her inability to recall anything from the day of the accident or the days preceding it. Felicia, empathizing with Josie's plight, pledges her unwavering support to Josie, reassuring her they'll overcome this ordeal together. Felicia then decides to let Josie rest, quietly exiting the room. Felicia rendezvous with Clark in the living room, where it is unveiled that they have indeed been involved in a secret relationship, corroborating Josie's suspicions. They express relief over Josie's amnesia which has erased her suspicion of their clandestine affair. Despite initially agreeing that the prudent course of action would be to end their relationship, Felicia and Clark find themselves contemplating the continuation of their tryst, viewing Josie's memory loss as a fortuitous opportunity. However, their guilt over pursuing their illicit relationship leads them to rationalize their actions in various ways, which only fuels their resolve to carry on... As their secret discussions unfold, they become so impassioned that they share a fervent kiss. Rationalizing that Josie is too weak to catch them in their compromising situation, they decide to engage in a sexual encounter then and there... a decision that could potentially return to haunt them.
