Beth (Nicole Doshi) and her spouse Frank make their way to a rural retreat to commemorate their second year of marriage. They've been striving to overcome a 'difficult period' in their union, thus a tranquil stay at a picturesque resort seems like the ideal solution. Nonetheless, Beth and Frank grow puzzled when they notice an eerie absence of people at the resort, including the staff.
They decide to separate and explore the vicinity in hopes of finding someone. As they wander around outdoors, they are oblivious to the fact that an unseen observer is watching them from the shrubbery. Shortly afterwards, Beth and Frank reconvene at the central resort complex, both reporting that they encountered no one. Despite Beth's apprehensions, Frank suggests they should remain for the night.
They make themselves comfortable, but are taken aback when they finally come across another person. The stranger introduces himself as Tommy (Tommy Pistol), and presents his wife Olivia. Tommy and Olivia explain that their car broke down and they had to push it here seeking assistance, but found no one.
Beth and Frank are reassured to encounter another couple in this deserted place. Frank offers to lend a hand with the car repairs, and departs with Olivia to the vehicle's location. Tommy and Beth stay back to rest and chat, but soon begin to wonder why Frank and Olivia are taking so long.
They set off to see what's happening. Tommy guides Beth towards his vehicle, but from afar they spot signs that Frank and Olivia are engaging in a sexual act inside it. Tommy and Beth are taken aback, and Beth grows hurt and infuriated.
