Larry (
Derrick Pierce) is guided down a corridor by security guards. He's donned in a Santa Claus costume and is visibly uneasy, attempting to engage the security in light-hearted chatter about their Christmas preparations. His efforts are met with silence.
Mr. Willis, the mall manager, wears a stern expression as he instructs Larry to sit in the chair opposite his desk. Larry tries to initiate casual conversation, noticing the framed photograph of Mr.
Willis's teenage daughter, Carrie Ann (
Emily Willis), on the desk. He inquires about Carrie Ann's wellbeing and mentions her recent 18th birthday, to which Mr. Willis tersely replies, 'Yes, she's 18, but that's irrelevant,' before turning the picture face-down to end the discussion.
Mr. Willis firmly informs Larry that he's been summoned due to a string of complaints about his inappropriate behavior, particularly around young females. Larry grows increasingly nervous as he watches Mr.
Willis casually enjoy a candy cane. He defensively argues that teenagers are prone to lying and insists that some were intentionally provoking him. He emphasizes his excellent performance as Santa and how much the children adore him.
Despite his efforts, his plea falls on deaf ears. Mr. Willis remains unmoved and sternly states that Larry can no longer continue his role as the mall's Santa.
The mall is a family-friendly venue and they will not jeopardize its reputation for a replaceable employee like Larry. Larry pleads for compassion, reminding Mr. Willis that he also has a family to support and it's close to Christmas.
Mr. Willis reiterates that Larry must leave immediately, and if he resists, he will not hesitate to involve the police. 'You mean, MALL cops?' Larry scoffs.
He lunges at Mr. Willis but is quickly restrained by the security guard and dragged out of the office, shouting threats and appearing increasingly unstable. TITLE PLATE
CUT to later that day, when Mr.
Willis returns home from work. Once Mr. Willis is inside, Larry emerges from the backseat of the car, wielding a crowbar.
Larry, still in his Santa costume minus the beard, approaches Mr. Willis's house, looking slightly grubby and disheveled. He spots Mr.
Willis and Carrie Ann through the front window, appearing content as they finish decorating their Christmas tree. The focus shifts to Carrie Ann, who looks innocent in her Christmas pajamas. Larry bides his time.
As night falls, Larry makes his move.
To his surprise, the front door is unlocked and slightly ajar, so he slips inside. He carefully navigates the house, taking note of the Christmas decorations that paint a picture of a happy family. He stops by the Christmas tree and plucks a candy cane from a branch before continuing his stealthy exploration.
He stops briefly upon seeing Mr. Willis resting in his bedroom, then moves on. Throughout his venture, Larry keeps his crowbar close, occasionally tapping it against his leg or palm.
He reaches a door adorned with girly decorations, signaling it's Carrie Ann's room. After a moment of contemplation, he changes his plan and slowly opens her door. Carrie Ann is deeply asleep in her bed, clad in her Christmas pajamas.
Larry approaches her bed and quietly sets down his crowbar. He towers over her, his gaze lingering over her body as he slowly pulls back her blanket. His gloved hand hovers over her bare shoulder, showing a hint of skin.
She stirs, disoriented and half-awake, uncertain of the unfamiliar presence in her room. Upon noticing Larry, she squints and mumbles, 'Santa? Am I dreaming?' Larry shushes her, saying, 'Sure, darling. This is a dream.
' He sits beside her on the bed and runs a hand over her leg, claiming Santa came to check up on her. She's still groggy and struggling to understand. Why would Santa have a crowbar? Larry covers it up by saying Santa needed to make some emergency sleigh repairs.
As he speaks, he moves closer to her. Despite her initial confusion, she mentions that he's. handsome. Larry responds with a lecherous grin, complimenting her cute pajamas.
She asks why Santa is in her room instead of downstairs. He tells her that her father has been naughty this year and is on Santa's naughty list. However, he wants to give Carrie Ann the chance to prove she's nice.
Still groggy, Carrie Ann mumbles that she wants to be on the nice list. Larry tells her that to do so, she must do as Santa says. He has a special present for her this year, but only if she behaves.
