Megan (
Gia Derza) and Aliyah (
Evelyn Claire) have had a hard-knock life. Best friends forced to survive on the streets after being thrown out of their homes, they find themselves in a constant battle for survival. More often than not, they face tough days, yet they continue to envision a future filled with light.
Even though their circumstance seems grim, they vow to always stick by each other, a promise that instills a glimmer of hope in them. But the question remains, for how long will this hope sustain them?
Fast forward two weeks, Megan is in a state of panic. One day Aliyah vanished and never came back, an act completely out of character for her.
Megan has searched high and low for her without any luck. It's as if Aliyah just vanished into thin air. To make matters worse, no one seems to be bothered enough to lend a helping hand, which only fuels her fear.
One such individual was Judy, a shelter employee who had been of help to them in the past. But when Megan pleads for her assistance, it's like conversing with a deaf ear. Regardless of how desperately Megan implores, she can't seem to make Judy grasp the gravity of the situation.
Once again, she's acutely aware that Aliyah is the ONLY person she can count on. and she feels as though she's failed Aliyah by not locating her when she could be in danger. All seems lost. until one day Aliyah shows up unexpectedly. Megan is shocked as they tearfully reunite, but her world is once again thrown into chaos when Aliyah discloses where she's been all this while -- Aliyah managed to secure a sugar mama who caters to ALL her needs.
Now that Aliyah has established a connection with her sugar mama, she's returned to ensure that Megan is also taken care of, which has been her intent all along. However, instead of rejoicing, Megan is appalled and repulsed at Aliyah's decision to sink so low. No matter how much Aliyah tries to argue that this is an opportunity they can't afford to miss, Megan wants no part of it.
That's when Aliyah's attitude shifts as she reminds Megan that everything she did was for THEIR benefit. Now that Megan is acting ridiculously self-centered and oblivious, perhaps it's time for them to go their separate ways. Now, Megan faces a crucial choice: will she cling to her dignity or risk losing Aliyah for real this time?.
