Always Been Close

It's the enchanting evening of Prom, a night of magic for countless adolescents. Kuleana, known as Jenny, is brimming with anticipation as she stands beside her boyfriend, Brandon, awaiting the photographer to immortalize some unforgettable moments before they set off for the night. However, it's clear that not all is well in their youthful romance. This becomes even more apparent when Jenny's stepbrother, Jay Romero, affectionately known as Ryan, appears for the photo session, causing Jenny's face to instantly light up. The photographer begins his work, and it's plainly visible how harmonious Jenny and Ryan are when they're together. Their ease and closeness leads the photographer to mistakenly assume they are a romantic couple. Jenny and Ryan both awkwardly brush off the misunderstanding, but deep down, the photographer's remark has stirred up something... After the Prom, when the threesome returns, the ambiance is noticeably strained. Since it's Prom night, Brandon becomes a bit too touchy-feely with Jenny, clearly desiring more than she's prepared to give. Suddenly, Ryan's powerful protective instinct for his stepsister kicks in, and in a flash, he lands a heavy punch that leaves Brandon nearly knocked out. Though taken aback, Jenny doesn't hesitate to trail after Ryan as he tightly holds her hand, leading her back into their house with a fiery anger. Once they're safely indoors and face each other, it rapidly becomes evident that their feelings for one another surpass those of mere siblings. Despite the complexity, they question whether they can resist acting on these feelings... can they?
