Chin Up, Buttercup

Eliza (Eliza Eves) is frantically scouring the living room, on the hunt for her mobile phone. Her stepfather, Nate (Ryan Driller) emerges into the room, phone in hand, explaining that she had misplaced it in the kitchen. Gratefully, she takes the phone from him, quickly scanning for new messages.
However, her expression falls when she sees none. She confesses to Nate that her boyfriend has been silent for the past two days, even on Valentine's Day. She becomes distressed, questioning what she could have done to cause this.
Nate consoles her, telling her to 'keep her chin up. ' He mentions that his wife has been preoccupied lately, and proposes the idea of he and Eliza celebrating Valentine's Day together. Eliza agrees, finding the idea entertaining, and Nate vows to make the day memorable for her.
Together, they settle down to watch a romantic film- the plan Eliza had originally made with her boyfriend. Yet, the movie only serves to sadden Eliza, it reminds her of the affection she believed she had with her boyfriend before the communication ceased. Seizing the moment, Nate begins to touch her, disguising his actions as comforting gestures.
He then surprises Eliza with a box of chocolates, taking a disturbing pleasure in watching her savor them. Nate probes Eliza about her other plans for the day with her boyfriend. She hesitates before revealing it was something she couldn't do with just anyone - she intended to lose her virginity.
Much to Eliza's surprise, Nate suggests that he should be the one to take her virginity. He reasons that her boyfriend appears to have abandoned her, so it would be better to share this intimate moment with someone she trusts. After all, who could she trust more than him?.
