Face Your Fears
The story commences with Ella (portrayed by Maya Kendrick) experiencing an emotional meltdown in the presence of her psychotherapist (played by Dana DeArmond). Ella's conduct and lack of progress during their counselling sessions aren't amusing her therapist. Despite her best attempts, Ella's stubborn resistance and her seeming lack of will to improve her condition are frustrating. Ella is haunted by the terror of the external world, choosing to seclude herself in a gloomy chamber day in and day out. Her overpowering social phobia causes her to crumble under the slightest pressure. She's under the paranoid impression that an inappropriate advance will be made towards her if she steps outside. Her dread of being in an uncomfortable situation or encountering something remotely sensual convinces her to confine herself and dodge these experiences entirely. However, the therapist's patience is wearing thin. If Ella's self-imposed isolation is merely to evade minor sexual embarrassment, then it's time to face the music. Once the therapist gains Ella's trust and submission, they can proceed with the therapy. In a little while, Ella is appalled as she finds herself in the midst of a boisterous nightclub. The therapist persuades her that the only way to conquer her dread of public sexual humiliation is to confront it head-on! Engulfed by the lustful, unruly, masked crowd, Ella timidly submits to her therapist and the therapist's expectant spouse. Will this drastic measure truly alleviate her condition, or has the therapist finally lost her sanity?
